Lightweight Structures
Lightweight structures have always emanated a great fascination. Until today it is regarded as a high art in the construction industry to fulfil a particular task with the help of a minimum of materials. New construction materials, calculation methods or types of simulation enable engineers iterative explorations into yet unachieved dimensions of structures and building. On those paths one treads on a borderline and comes up against limitations which cannot be overcome unless with a high degree of courage and enthusiasm. In these cases a perfect aesthetic solution is almost as valuable as the prefect technical knowledge.
