On June 24th, 2022 TEUFFEL ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS is organising an internal workshop on the subject of sustainability and circularity in structural design. Guest speakers among others are: Alexander Happ from ‘ASSIDUUS -Developement GmbH’ as well as Arjan Kirkels and Amir Babakhani from the TU/e.

Julian Lienhard and Patrick Teuffel have written the following chapter : “Circular Structures – Resource-Conserving Structural Design in New and Existing Buildings”. It has just been published by Ernst & Sohn in the yearbook ‘Ingenieurbaukunst 2022’.

Patrick Teuffel is guest speaker at the Swiss Online Forum “Composites and Sustainability”, 2021. From June 29th to July 1st, a total of 5 keynotes and 25 presentations from a total of 10 European countries will be presented, as well as a top-level panel discussion.

“Sustainability, Resource Efficiency, and Climate Protection” The first sustainability book by and for civil engineers has just been published by Ernst & Sohn. Edited by Dr. Bernhard Hauke together with DGNB and the ‘Institut Bauen und Umwelt’ (IBU). The editors and selected authors, including Prof. Dr.-Ing Patrick Teuffel, will present a milestone of structural sustainability in detail.

Save the date: DGNB Advanced Training on the topic: Bio-based and building materials for change. The training gives an insight into current research results and is dedicated to successful projects.

Save the date: Circular Materials Conference: Bio-Based Construction Materials during Service- and End-of-Life in a Circular Economy. Patrick Teuffel is speaker at the Gothenborg Conference, the nordic forum for the industrial, scientific and commercial progress in the circular use of materials.

On 26th August 2020 Patrick Teuffel has been invited as keynote speaker on the subject : “Innovative and Sustainable Structural Design” at the International Symposium of “Architecture, Technology and Innovation” ATI, which was initiated by Yaşar University Department of Architecture. In January 2020, Patrick Teuffel implemented the X-Day internally and reacted constructively to the cultural change of workplaces with a new work time model.

On 7th/ 8th March 2019 the Deutsche Bautechnik-Tag 2019 will take place in Stuttgart and Patrick Teuffel will talk about the challenges during the design and realisation of the project “Neues Prora” on Rügen. The full program can be found here (in German only).

Patrick Teuffel will give a lecture about “Resource-efficient structural design” at the ARCHITECT@WORK trade fair in Stuttgart on 05.12.2018.

The 5th symposium TEXTILE-ARCHITEKTUR für architects and engineers will take place on Monday, 10th September 2018 from 9am until 5.30pm in the thyssenkrupp test tower in Rottweil/ Germany, which is probably the most spectacular place for textile structures – a tower with a height of 260m and 17.000m2 large textile envelope.

The symposium will provide information from theory as well as from practice. Speaker and specialist in textiles, such as Prof. Dr.-Ing. Patrick Teuffel, Bernhard Hahner, winner of the steel innovation award 2018 as well as the project leader of the test tower from Werner Sobek Stuttgart will present.

On 15.08.2018 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology the IASS 2018 conference “Creativity in Structural Design” will start and on 17.07.2018 Patrick Teuffel will give a lecture about “Resource-efficient structural design”.

In collaboration with one fine day we won the 1st prize for the competition “Conversion and extension of Schüco-Showroom into a welcome centre in Bielefeld”

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Patrick Teuffel has been appointed as member of the DGNB Innovation advisory board, which explores future topics in the area of sustainability in the built environment.

SCIENCE” at HCU in Hamburg and then on 28th September within the Joint Market and Technology Study “New Potentials for Composite Technologies in Buildings & Infrastructure” at RWTH Aachen about the application of bio-based composite materials in the built environment.
